‘Ace’ New Luxury Leather Collection from Gleneagles

The Gleneagles name is synonymous with golf, but that may change with the launch of a new luxury leather goods collection.

Designed in-house by the Ennismore Design Studio and crafted by two heritage British specialist manufacturers, Tusting and Launer (supplier of The Queen’s handbag), the collection is inspired not by golf but rather Gleneagles’ heritage as one of the UK’s most iconic railway hotels (built by the Caledonian Railway Company).

Ranging from the Berwick holdall to purses, wallets and luggage tags, the collection’s pieces are named after stations on the London to Gleneagles route and are available in a colour palette of navy, rich brown and teal, referencing colours used in steam locomotive trains in the early 1900s. The London cross-body bag (£425) is inspired by the popular hat boxes of the 1950s which were used by ladies to carry on the trains to and from the hotel.

The bags feature a thistle-patterned lining which pays homage to a wallpaper pattern discovered in the hotel’s archives.

The Gleneagles & Co collection is available online and from the hotel’s own retail arcade and items may be personalised with an initial engraving service.
